Hello,

My name is Launi and I'd like to take your picture. I have spent many years immersing myself in the study of light and photography. My true passion is nature photography however, I love working with people to create beautiful and authentic portraiture as well.

Photography has enriched my life in more ways than I can count.  My love affair with nature photography began in my early 20's while living in Southern Germany. With the Bavarian Alps in my backyard I began taking landscape photos on film little to no knowledge on how to use a camera outside of auto settings. There was a lot of hit and miss with my images and I decided that learning how to do photography needed to go on my bucket list of skills to learn someday. Moving on down the road... in my mid-thirties, I ended up in Missoula Montana and serendipitously discovered there is a  world renowned photography school here, the Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP). I began taking classes there whenever I was able and my passion for photography began to bloom. I realized a sense of devotion to this art unlike anything else I have ever experienced within my creative self. Now 8 years later, I am still mastering my craft. In 2021 I attended the RMSP Summer Intensive Program. Before the end of that year I had landed a position in broadcasting production with NBC Montana that turned into a photojournalist position within only a few months. I learned a ton about visual story telling in my couple of years there, but realized that the corporate machine was not going to nourish my creativity in the ways I required to grow further, so I moved on and began focussing on my small but fulfilling photography business. Welcome to the world as I see it from the earth, on up. Beauty comes in many forms, I just wait for the light to shine on it.
